These decadent double chocolate waffles are super easy and quick to make and if you don’t have a waffle maker they make great pancakes. Serve with vanilla ice-cream and a big pouring of maple syrup and our Vinofood Mandarin, Chilli & Shiraz Chocolate Sauce. Yum!
Double Chocolate Waffles
Makes 8 waffles
- 3 each eggs
- 1¾ cups milk
- 125 gm butter, unsalted, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- ¼ cup castor sugar
- ¼ cup cacao or cocoa powder
- ½ cup Vinofood Mandarin, Chilli & Shiraz Chocolate Sauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (to serve)
- 1 scoop vanilla ice-cream (to serve)

Heat waffle maker. If you don't have a waffle maker you can make as pancakes in a fry pan.

Whisk together the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla in a medium sized bowl and set aside

Combine flour and sugar in a large bowl, and make a well in the centre

Gradually whisk milk mixture into the flour to form a batter.

Pour ½ of batter into each waffle square, close the lid and cook until timer has finished. If making pancakes add a big spoonful to the pan and cook until bubbles form. Flip over and cook other side.
